To support learning in maths I always endeavour to use practical equipment and images to support children's learning. Schools today use a range of different methods; part whole models, bar models, concrete resources, and pictorial representations to name a few. Having been teaching these methods in schools, I can bring the modern teaching approach to tutoring sessions to support students with their classroom learning.
I will always start with assessments to find out what students can do, then plan my sessions to cover gaps in learning and tricky concepts.
